| This notice supersedes our notice issued on May 2, 2002, concerning the FIX and iLink Tag changes to accommodate NYMEX products, beginning mid-June. In the past two weeks, we have received several calls from ISVs and firms that have developed their own front-end systems, expressing their concern over having to make changes to their systems for CME members that will only be trading CME products. As a result, effective immediately, we have revised our original requirement. For any member placing orders into GLOBEX, specifically for NYMEX products, either the 4-digit NYMEX Broker Number or 2-5 character CME Broker Acronym of the member must be entered for the member to receive discounted fees. This information must be submitted to GLOBEX in FIX 2.3/2.3 Express Tag 116 or iLink FIX 4.2 Tag 50. No other data should be entered into these Tags for members entering orders for NYMEX products. In addition, the data must be left-justified in the first 1-5 bytes of the Tags. This information will be placed into the MEMO field in the GLOBEX M1 Records that will be sent to NYMEX for daily billing and clearing processing. Those individuals (members and non-members) exclusively trading CME products require no change to the data placed in Tag 116 or Tag 50. Since August 2000, there has been a requirement to submit the "Entry User ID" in FIX Tag 116. Effective with the NYMEX launch, if the data in these fields does not contain either the 4-digit NYMEX Broker Number or CME Broker Acronym, for NYMEX products, the record will be interpreted as a trade entered by a non-member or customer and will be charged customer/non-member rates.
